Field Visual

The Bite-Back Machine is an end-of-section upgrade station. Use it when the upgrade strengthens a weapon you are already committed to, and do not forget the nearby locker with three random upgrades that requires a painted code from the section.

Confirmed function
Official community posts say each section ends with a Bite-Back Machine that upgrades weapons for a price. There are four weapon tiers total, and the final achievable tier grants a much stronger ability.
The nearby upgrade locker matters too
Next to each Bite-Back Machine is a unique locker with three random upgrades. To unlock it, you need to find a code painted somewhere in that section. You only get to purchase one upgrade per section, so it is a real route-planning decision.
Best mindset
- Explore enough of the section to spot the code if your run can support it.
- Only upgrade weapons you are actually comfortable carrying forward.
- Budget around the whole stop—upgrade, locker purchase, and recovery needs.
